View Full Version : recover from in camera "format" command
Hey guys, anyone know how I can get some footage back? I have dumped the data from the p2 cards but all I can get are little snips of audio. the good news is that I NEED that audio and not the video, the bad news it takes a really long time to re-construct the audio from 1sec clips! All the data is here, I just don't know what to do with it to make a new set of valid MXF files!

What files do you have? This problem sounds terrible!
got most of the audio back via data dump of the raw data from the formatted p2 cards, then named the data "Data.raw" and opened it in an audio editor, you can recover like this, but it takes a long long time because all you get are audio in 1sec chunks that you have to scan and find in the video data dump...not fun...but works and worked for us!
someone please write some software that can read the data and turn it back into video and audio files?!
