I'm trying to record HD to my citidisk 100gb. I've checked around the forums and although I've found myriad other citidisk problems listed here, none quite fit this.
When shooting in HD (720p or 1080i, any frame rate) in AVI2, the video appears compressed in the left half of the screen. The right half is occupied by a flashing bar of orange and green. I'm using Premiere CS3 to edit, but the video appears this way in every application I open it in (After Effects, Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, etc.).
I'm not really sure what it could be, my guess is something related to the pixel aspect ratio? If I stretch it out to 150%, it seems to be just fine. Somehow it's not getting along with the 1.5 ratio of DVCPRO HD?
Everything else works fine. Camera and drive get along nicely, can control recording from either. DV and DVCPRO record perfectly. I've updated firmware and reformatted the drive time and time again. I've followed the manual and watched the flashing lights diligently.
I just recently shipped the drive off to Shining to get it fixed, and they shipped it back in exactly the same condition... Before I try to deal with them again, I'd love it if somebody had some ideas. Please let me know. You'd be my personal hero.
