Purchased the Indifocus 12 inch whip handle with the new industry standard snap in square mount. Was very confused when it didn't fit my FF. Ordered a Zacuto which fits my FF just fine.

Zacuto whip is the nice looking red one, btw.

So is there more than one "Standard" or is there something else going on here?

Thats because the indiefocus uses an industry standard ratchet wrench

Yes, it is nice to get your camera gear from the auto parts store, but the claim on the site is a little misleading.

Now that someone has explained that, can I ask without completely hijacking the thread if the SG Pro FF even has a socket for a whip (industry standard or not)? I saw pics on the site and i didn't look like there was any hole in the middle.

Thanks.

Arrik,

A small adapter for the SGfollow focus is currently being machined to accept standard whips and speed cranks. In a few months time this will come as standard.

If the indie whip is not standard as it claims, what about the Follow Focus? Is the follow focus of the indie being able to accept real standard whips like the Zacuto , Arri or Redrock whips ? Or is it that it fits only their stand whips

Almost wanted to go with the indie focus, But I'm glad I paid for the Redrock.

BTW Wayne, do you guys sell speed crank or whip that has a standard port for standard speed crank.

Great, I'm looking forward to get the whip and the crank from you if Redrock doesn't beat you to it first.

I'm sure alot of people are interested in getting that whip too.

Hi there - can I ask what the dimensions for the industry standard Zacuto square head are? I've been searching all over the web and its bizarre how hard it is to find the exact dimensions - I understand that its not a standard 1/4" socket, yes? Many thanks.
