Ok, so I was removing my LEX from my HVX and the glass in the back between the camera lens and the groundglass of the LEX (the achromat, i believe) just fell out, bounced off my shoe and onto the floor, causing several 1-3mm chips around the edges. None of which are in the middle thankfully. Is the glass supposed to be that loose in the back? Will this destroy the image? I haven't noticed anything too much. I was mainly just wondering if it is totaled now or if I could replace this? Any suggestions since I can't afford to purchase a new LEX?
I can take pictures of this and post if you guys would like to see
Thanks
Ouch! Please post pictures of the disaster. If the damage is on the outside of the glass you should be just fine as you zoom past it.

I'd like to see pix as well, and to know why it might have fallen out. My LEX is due soon, and I certainly would like to know how to protect against having the same problem.
Thanks

I trust you have contacted Letus? ( Somtimes people don't do this - just asking.)

Once I am back home I will take pictures and post them in several hours.
Oh this is just such a damn heartbreaking experience

This also happened to me a month ago when I first received my adapter. The glass just came off, though it did not shatter. Thankfully Aaron at Letus helped me out. I unscrewed the attachment away from the LEX body where this protective glass resides and sent it to him along with the glass. I received the reattached apparatus and have not had an issue since. This company's service is ideal.

You can actually unscrew the glass part? HMMM

No the glass was glued with hot glue and it came undone. I just did not want to ruin anything being that the glass can get dirty with the glue so I prefered to let the pros handle this.

In mine, it appears that some parts are loose (you can hear some sounds coming from moving parts when you gently shake it). Is it normal?

A little concerned about motor shaft being stuck, vignetting, glass falling out and now noise coming from the unit. Are we nervous yet?

Dang kids. My Letus looks like it's been through a tornado thanks to rentals and I have none of those issues. Hit up the Le brothers and see about gettin it fixed.
I wouldn't go jigglin' my unit around, though: remember, there is a ground glass that's supposed to move inside of it.

From what I remember you are not even suppose to be able to remove the glass at all. I believe LEX made it that way so that consumers wouldn't damage the prism setup inside the adapter. I do remember reading that somewhere.
