Just got my Letus Extreme today. Took me about just a couple of minutes to re-purpose my rod set that I bought from Red Rock for the M2. Here's a picture of the set up. The Letus support isn't on yet. This is just a quicky test

I've seen all the photos of the cameras mounted really high on totem poles. I never could understand why you'd mount your camera like that when this way takes two seconds and is much more secure.

Very interesting way to set it up. Although your rails are way too long, the rod supported like that seems weird but you've got somethin' there.

Some Cavision CF rods might do you good since they're shorter. Wondering what kinda problems supporting the rails on the VERY ends of the rails are gonna cause when an FF and heavier lens (PL/OCT-19) hop on board.

I have shorter rails that I haven't put on yet this was just a quick five minute job from the original set up from the M2 which had the long rails.

It doesn't matter if 5 inches protrudes behind the clamp or 1mm, the rails don't know the difference. It would just be extra rail just suspended in the air behind the clamp.

Clever. Do you have to use shim kit to give it extra height under the camera mount base?

It's exactly the same shim kit that I use with the M2. The rails are just flipped to the underside.

The only thing that scares me is that the Letus is not mounted to the rails and just "hangs" on the hvx stocklens. Beside that it looks neat...

This was just a quick flip of the RR to see if it would work. My support for the Letus isn't on yet. You can put anything on this set up just like any other.

Yeah, the Letus support should be high enough for that. Definitely not a bad setup you got goin on.

Here's the final set up without follow focus. Very solid

I can dig it. Good to see the camera got scooted up a bit more on the baseplate. Very intuitive idea you've got there.

What letus riser do you have, though? S'not the same one I have.

I built that from different parts. It's not the Letus bracket
