I just took a peek and it looks like, if you were crazy, and if you were the owner of reel-stream, you could take the output connection off of the chip assymbally and get 14-bit 2k out of it...pure speculation, but it also looks like you could replace the p2 card slots for a CF or SSD drive instead. hmmmm...there is also enough freespace inside the body to pack a sandwich for lunch...

if i were only friends with Juan from Reel-stream we might just have a cinema camera on our hands....

see that last picture? That group of wires is coming off of the chip assembly. In the middle is where the turkey sandwich goes.

Or 4 hot swappable 250GB 2.5" hard drives for hours and hours of record time

The turkey would stay moist, if you switched out the SD card slot for a mayo dispenser.

But seriously, I saw that Pany was offering the avc-intra upgrade board for the hpx2000 and i thought "hmmmm, that might be nice in my camera too.." So i found a manual for the avc-intra board and installation instructions. I opened up my hpx500 to see if there was a card slot in the same spot as the hpx2000 and......

there wasnt... = (

But still if you knew what reel-stream knew, this hpx500 would be spitting out some really mean 14-bit 2k or more images, I was blown away by what they did with the dvx...

I think you should try this for us by the way.... And just replace the cover for it with a pacman lunchbox cover. :violent5:If it works, I'll do it too.

Just don't tell Panasonic!

To tell you the truth, all you do is unscrew the screws on the side of the camera. Its like removing the case from a desktop computer. Pops off, pops back on.
