i'm hoping this thread will motivate me to actually put something together and enter a fest this time around. i don't have a script yet and i'm pretty much doing everything by myself. so this could turn out embarrassingly bad (but hopefully in an entertaining way).

i have some exciting news to share. yesterday i purchased a sweatshirt from target for $5. size: xl, color: chili pepper red. even though this exhausts my budget allotted to costume design, i'm sure that you will find this money well spent. i'm debating about whether to post a picture of me wearing the sweatshirt or not. showing the shirt may get people excited, but not showing it could also help build anticipation for a big reveal.

as far as writing goes, the rough draft is about half way finished.

i finally bit the bullet and invested in better lighting. yesterday i purchased 2 "daylight" light bulbs from the hardware store. cost: $4.59 each.

yes! my strategy is not to use any money on the actual film, but rather spend my entire budget paying people for their votes. so any free ones i can get really helps.

here is a picture of a storyboard i did earlier today. although my drawing skills aren't the best, i think this illustration is fairly accurate and self explanatory in what it depicts.

Looks like and etch-a-sketch drawing.

my film has nothing to do with Christmas, but i do find humor in the random.

Based on the storyboards, will the lead actor have disconnected arms and legs? :)

Seriously, Best of luck with the film.

so i actually did some filming today! unfortunately it turned out awful and i'll have to redo everything. i forgot to tell my sister that when she was filming me, the manual focus was on and she would have to adjust accordingly. the mic was also in a couple of shots. the good news is that we only did one scene! :)

What camera are you shooting on? No autofocus?

Dude you should do an arrested development type show.

dvx100b. i like to use the manual focus when i shoot, but it would probably be easiest for her just to use the auto.

i'll check out arrested development and see how they shot.

Have you seen that show? It's frikkin awesome. It's shot in a little bit of a 'reality tv' kinda way but I was more referring to the humor in the show that I think you'll like.

I hope the sweatshirt is holding up well to the riggors of production.

How's the short coming along?

Ha ha, I love that show. If you look closely, my avatar is GOB...:)

Come on Uga, bang this bad boy out. Regardless of the problems, just get it in the can. You'll be better for it.
