I am on location and away from my camera and any reference manuals at the moment and I need some clarification.

Can some one tell us the difference in the way a HVX and a DVX 'handles' squeeze mode and letterbox.

I feel squeeze mode means something different on the HVX to the DVX.

This question largely realates to Post production and what we should expect if we shoot squeeze and letterbox on both cameras.

In the HVX200 "squeeze mode" means real 16:9, using the full chip size. The DVX100 doesn't have real 16:9, it uses only the 16:9 portion of its 4:3 chips for squeeze mode.

So the HVX in its normal shooting mode, shoots 16x9. When this is played back on a regular TV it is squeezed, correct?

what is the difference in resolution?

correct... Squeeze on the HVX 200 means 16 X 9.
