4GB P2 Card Won't Allow Me To Reformat

I popped in my 4GB card today. Its the only one I own.

I wanted to shoot some footage, but I got an "incompatible card" message upon inserting the card.

I can't reformat it the card either. Can someone walk me through reformatting? Is there a trick?

My guess is it might have been write protected.
