Since this is a native 1080p camera shooting to P2, I'm curious as to why it doesn't support over and undercranking? Anybody know why, or if they'll offer a 1080p native model later that does? It would be cool.........

I assume it's because it's their first 1080P sensor.... they didn't want to go to far ahead of themselves. And I'm pretty sure the DVCPro codecs don't allow for a 1080pN mode; the AVC codecs can do 1080pN but they're new and I don't know if the AVC codecs have support for variable rates. They maybe able to expand it to do so, but I'm not sure. The HPX3000 seems like the 1080P P2 version of the HDX900, as far as where it sits in relation to other cameras; most of Panasonic's cameras have a "partner" with slightly less abilities, the 3000 is the only without that..... which would mean a 1080P Varicam should be coming soon to match up with the 3000.

I am thinking the varicam 2 will be 2k and higher fps.
