I have gone in and change some of the scene files in Textedit and then i go to save the modified file and it gives me a prompt that says the file is a read only. So that means that I can't save the new scene files. I have done a search on here and have not come up with anything that helps me. Any suggestions, and no the lock switch on the card is not on.

If there is a scene file on the card it is probably trying to save over them and the attribs of the cards scene file might be set to read only even if the card is set to writable.

I just tried to save another scene file to the card and I guess I only have read permissions on it.

I am having this problem as well. Does anyone know of a fix?
My mac tells me that the p2sd cannot be written to.

Ok, so I can offload scene files from the SD card onto a PC, edit and save back onto the card.
The files then load into the camera and the hack works fine...
However, the same SD card, when inserted into my MacbookPro, shows up as Read-only. I suppose I can deal with using a PC to set up my scene files, but I'd be curious to know if anyone has encountered this problem and found a solution...

Check "Read-only" flag and clear it if needed.

Hey Cranky,
I've tried right clicking the card, opening the info panel and looking for that option, but I can't seem to locate it.

The flag is assigned to files, not to the card. The card can be locked as a whole with a switch, but looks like it is not locked because you can write to the file using another machine.

Thanks, I'll try that. Guess I assumed it applied to the entire card because in the info window for the card it says Read Only in the permissions section.

I would not know about that. I don't know much about Macs, and just a little more about *nix that OSX is based on.

command+i on the card folder. Then change the permissions at the bottom. Are you on an admin user or limited?
And never forget, repair the disk permissions with disk utility from times to times.
