Before committing to a HVX and even before renting one, I would like to get my workflow down. Would anyone here be willing to send my some sample footage straight from the camera? I would be glad to pay for any postage and media costs if you cannot host it online.

Here are some things I'm looking for in the footage:

-Well exposed
-Mix of 24PN and 24P
-Mix of 24fps and 60fps
-Mix of slow shutter & fast shutter

I don't really need more than 10 seconds of video per clip. Any takers?

But it what format?

QT or what for viewing on what platform?

The raw footage is MXF. Macs unwrap to QT and PCs use Raylight to get it into NLEs on that side.

I would like some sample footage too.... so if somebody could get it online, that would be great.... I honestly prefer Windows Media, but I could deal with QT.

The only problem is that you need to have DVCProHD codecs to view it.

You can't see MXF files natively without some utility.

What do you guys intend to use to view the footage?

And have you looked here:

Yeah.... I've seen some of those videos, but for some reason I've yet to see a video with the quality that everyone speaks of..... I've seen EX1 footage and HDV footage, and it's better than any of the HVX200 footage I've seen..... and I just don't see how. The only thing I can think of, is all I'm seeing in compressed versions of the 200 footage.

I currently have no editing software, so I don't think I have anything that I can see MXF files in.

MXF is fine. Getting MXF into the workflow is well, part of the workflow. I don't want to circumvent any of it.
