Hello,

I'll be recording a commercial in a house (external) with trees, etc at night.
I'll start to record at late afternoon, so still a little of light in the sky. We'll have some lights, HMI, etc, but of course some areas without light.
I need experience from night shots in the HVX200:

- What gamma / settings should offer less noise at night in dark areas ? Also imagine some trees with low light...

- The final output will be betacam SP, I'm thinking in shooting 720 24P, but should be a better quality shooting in 1080i ?

Thanks,
Ulisses

Either 720 or 1080 will make for a great transfer to BetaSP; the only question is whether you want 24p or not. If you do, jus shoot 720/24p, and when you play out the footage you'll dub it over to BetaSP using the in-camera downconversion capability.

For less noise use the b.press gamma and keep the detail level a little lower, and consider using a milder color matrix like "norm" instead of "cine".

thanks Barry,

If I use 24PN I'll need to add pull down in Post, right ?

Every HD format color is 4:2:2 ?

Any advantage using 720/60p ?

Thanks so much,
Ulisses
