I am considering getting a new camera, I will give the old one to my younger sister. The Canon - EOS Rebel XTI caught my eyes, it got very nice reivews (http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail~dpno~7116493~Action~READREVIEW~Redir~1.asp) .
A decent deal the lowest price I can find for it is $570 (http://www.dealstudio.com/viewtopic.php?t=35373&ru=282):
I've always heard that Canon is the way to go. I saw that reviews, but still I hope to know what are some of your experience with it, I intend to keep this caemra for at least 3 years, so I don't want to get anything unpleasant. I would like to stay under $600. Any advice?? Thanks!

I have the Canon Rebel XT and am 100% satisfied. However the form factor is a bit small for a professional. I would say that the only advantage to the XTi is that the LCD is larger and the self cleaning imaging sensors thats cool too. Most reviews I have read and people I spoken too feel that the XTi is a step backwards in image quality. Generally the image noise is a problem. That alone has kept me from upgrading. In which case if you go for the rebel xt you will have some cash maybe for a cheap flash or more CF cards. Just be aware a lot of images look in focus on the 2 inch lcd screen sometimes when you jump into lightroom your best shot is also your softest.

I have shot with this camera for a year and have had excellent results with prints up to 20x30. I would not go for the kit, though. Buy the body and a 50mm 1.8 ($75). This lens is one of the best and cheapest Canon makes. Beyond that, buy L glass. They are more expensive, but worth it. I have a Tamron lens also, but everything else is Canon.
