hi all,

I need to do a long shoot tomorrow and just upgraded to the FS-100 v4 software. I plan to shoot 720P/24 to take advantage of the extend PN time on the FS-100.

It's an important gig. For best reliability (no glitches, jumps or sync issues) should I record to the FS-100 using P2 PN or QT PN? I will be editing with FCP v6.

thanks for any response!

Chris

It's the same file.

To save space, do QT. Also, do some tests setting up the FS100 and the cam.

When working with FCP, no doubt you should be using the Quicktime option. The FS-100's MXF recording mode is implemented a bit goofily because it records in a nonstandard way, and then requires you to run an "organize P2" step before you can actually use the files. If you skip that step you can end up making a right mess of things. But then, FCP won't use the MXF files anyway, it demands that they be converted to Quicktime files. So, for an FS-100 and FCP combo, you can save a lot of hassle and potential hassle by just going with Quicktime in the first place.
