I have read in several posts that 1080p is available on the HVX200. I generally shoot in 720pn to save space and also I only see the option for 1080i (1080i 24pa) for example. What is the truth and if I can get the HVX to shoot 1080p how do I do so.

Thanks anyone who can help!

HVX shoots 1080p but puts it in a 1080/60i stream just the way the DVX put 480p in a 60i stream, It is FULL 1080 progressive and your editing software will take out the pulldown frames to give the native stream.

Make use of the search function as this has been covered at length.

The best setting depends on what look you want.

The 1080p on the 500 is the same 1080p on the 200 except for the chipset change (I believe).

True. The 1080p on the hvx500 is 1080/60i stream with flagged frames for pulldown, same as the hvx200. I wish I could grab a hpx3000, that true 1920x1080 video sure looks great!

True, plus relatively cheap glass on the HVX probably contributes to that slightly fuzzy feel.
