Hello all. I just recently purchased an HVX, and it should be arriving within the next 2 days. Although I have had experience with the HVX, I've never owned one, and never used it with the 16 gb cards. My question is whether or not I'll need to update my camera in any way to function properly with the new cards? I would think not, since they are being sold now with a 16gb card in the box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is that if this is a newer cam, you should be good to go.

But you can always download the latest firmware updates from the Panasonic web page and use a 64 Mb SD card to do it yourself.

But I don't think you'll need to if this is a new cam.

If the start of the serial number is higher than E7xxxxxx then you are good to go for 16 and 32GB cards.

The current firmware version is 4.06. If your camera's is older, you can get HVX200 firmware (http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/#firmware) on my page.

Don't use the software that ships with the cam on CD. Panasonic recently updated all their drivers (http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/#drivers) for everything P2 (mac, XP, Vista, everybody) and the P2 viewer application, too.

Thanks for the info! Any suggestions which software I should use instead?
