What is a good mounting option for the Panasonic BT-LH80W 7.9 to the HPX-500?

I'd say a Zacuto Zamerican arm, a Noga arm, basically any articulating arm.

Some people suggest the Manfrotto Magic Arm.

Do you plan to mount anything else to your HPX-500? Like a follow focus, under camera grips, etc.?

Just planning on the monitor. Panasonic makes one but doesn't look as strong as Zacuto's arm

I'd go Zacuto then.

Here's what I'd do.

Attach the monitor to the ZicroMount (which enables quick release from the arm)
Attach the ZicroMount to the Zamerican Large (articulating arm)
Attach Zamerican arm to another Zicromount that is attached to the camera.

That way you can quick release the monitor form the arm and the arm from the camera.

That should do the trick. PM if you need any further assistance.

I believe this is the magic arm. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5180-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_2929_2929_Variable_Friction_Magic. html

That photo on B&H is not correct for one of them.

Oh. Well that makes since doesn't it!.

For some odd reason, I thought you were talking about Magic Arm vs. Noga Arm. Few!

I have used a real ARRI magic arm and it looks different than that... maybe they dont make them anymore, the one i have used seems fairly old (and large)

I use Arm Bones / Manfrotto Ball for my monitor. Incredibly stiff (no vertical axis). Love it.
