Hey guys, got a problem with some footage i shot the other night. I just switched my system from a powerbook to a macbook pro and have all the proper drivers setup and fcp 5 right now. I tried to dump the footage though the camera/firewire and as well copied the master to te hard drive. when im dumping through P2 Capture in fcp i get a message
"One or More P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt clips."
I have tried to import all and import individually and no luck. I have never had this problem and I've had the hvx with p2 cards for a year. Any ideas of why this is happening and a possible fix or work around? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Which specific version of FCP are you running on the MPB?
FCP5 isn't specific enough.
Also, are you write protecting the clips before mounting and copying?
What version of QT, and do you have FX Factory installed?

its FCP 5.0.1 and QT 7.3.1 . before i was always dumping through the PCI slot now I am using firewire to dump then the problem occured. I am worried there may be corrosion issues with my firewire port because I had some corrosion issues with other hardware on the cam (from shooting snowboarding without a jacket). I am trying to dump through USB 2.0 on the camera now and switched the PC device in the camera as well but when i switch it to PC mode the computer doesn't recognize the files. I am now starting to regret the swich to the macbook pro for this headache already.
Thanks for anymore suggestions.

If you are running 5.0.1 on a MacBook Pro, you are a candidate for some serious problems.
The first version of FCP that is compatible with the Intel Macs, including the MBP, is 5.1.
If you switched from a PPC PowerBook which WILL run 5.0.4 to a MBP that WON'T RUN 5.04, there is your problem.

There's isn't a way to update to 5.1.x. That was a $49.00 cross grade or slightly higher the Apple offered for nearly 18 months.
Better to get 6.x and make everything compatible.
