So I got inspired by the Redrock HV20 Rig and decided to build my own...

Dude that setup looks HOT!
Especially with the followfocus it looks pro! Do you have any footage taken with that cool skateboard tripod?
I always dig HV20 homemade rigs.

Very cool!!! Really negates the need for the flip on this model.

Thanks. No, not yet. I'm actually trying to build a large version of that dolly.

What's the total cost of your mount setup, excluding the camera, lense, adapter and skater dolly?

I had most of the pieces for use with my XHA1. I only bought the following additional items to build this mount:
1 Cinevate 15mm Rails block ~$35
1 Handle from Reid Supply ~$18
1 L Bracket mount from photo store ~$35
2 Hot Shoe mounts ~$9
Aluminum + Misc Screws ~$25

now that is a sweet looking set up. makes me think of getting an HV20 now for a smaller more compact camera set up. Would make a nice alternate to the HVX and can fit into tight corners, maybe for wide angle shots in a car... hmmmm

Very cool, how do you like the HV20's performance to compared the DVX with a 35mm adapter?

Sorry, can't answer that. I don't have a DVX. Also 100% of what we shoot is for web delivery so even the HV20 is overkill.

Are you using Berrys Hacks or are you just keeping it to shutter priority and apiture priority? How are the results with the brevis?
