Hi all,

I based my static adapter design off the information gathered from this website: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=45972

thanks for the great design!

I test shoot my footages and found out the grain is almost intolerable, the bokeh looks werid also, the whole thing looks foggy

I use a Nikon D GG (with red dot), and I added some stills from my test footages, hopefully someone can tell me if i did something wrong setting up the adapter.

for ur info i use a sigma 28-70mm zoom lense

here are some pictures

I did some color tinting but still it was pretty bad, I really appreciate the help

I read to never stop your lens past 2.8 with a static and expose with the iris wheel. My static could handle that... with primes. What stop is this sigma on? Hope its not the 3.5-4.5 sigma zoom.

I had based my DIY adapter design roughly on that same one, and had the same problem with the grain. After reading up on and buying several different GG I found the Canon Es-S focusing screen worked out the best for me. It doesn't actually have a grain at all, it's made from plastic. Here's my design with some test footage as well.

my iris is all the way open at f2.8, I do stop down with the dvx's iris. i've seen other people's test footages and seems like they don't have that much problem with their gain, or is it because the compression distort the grain so they aren't visale? btw i should focus on the frosted side of the nikon D right? in otherwords the clear part facing out and frosted side facing dvx, thanks again

youve got it backwards. the frosted part faces the lens. clear part faces your dvx.

But i doubt this will help with your grain problem. i guess this is your zoomed in TOO much, and the grain starts to show.

Static has very small tolerances when its DIY. the vibration of the GG eliminates the grain.
