Just finished shooting a event today. First real shoot with new camera and lens. Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the lens. Yes it breaths. That said it is a awesome lens for the price range. Was very nice for covering the event the quick zoom function is just freaking great. I had a chance to use a lens with this a couple of years ago and liked then and I love it know that I own it. The zoom is silky smoothe and over all lay out of the controls of the lens are great. Image is very sharp and focas is a breeze. I know alot people cann't get past the breathing but for most of my jobs it will be a great lens. For someone covering events it will be awesome.. Fyi I had to cover the event handheld and the HPX-500 feels as well balananced if not better than any full size camera I have worked with. I did find it was great to have a full size camera for the hand held work, I never liked the Hvx for hand held. Anyway that is my 2 cents.
