Hi:
Is there a way that I can record directly from a HD DVR component into my HVX200?
Thanks for any help on this in advance,
eric

Nope, the Component connections on the HVX200 are output only.

Thanks Mikko, I was pretty sure that was the situation, but just wanted to check .

Of course the real issue is the copyright ones in the states.
According to the MPAA and RIAA and all other media associations out there, ANY capture and re-edit of any of their material is illegal. Even capturing it and showing it to others is illegal. If you have the box, you are only allowed to show it from that box to people in your home, or where ever the box is located.
So it's your call . . . . even if it were possible.

Not necessarily true, you can use an HD DVR, and the supreme court ruling on timeshifting with VCRs would apply if you were able to find a set-top HD DVD or BluRay recorder. But if the data were copy protected it would be illegal to circumvent the protection.
