Looking at purchasing a monitor for my package and want to see if anyone has purchased or seen this monitor(the CARRION c) hands on and if so how does it compare to the panasonic and others here is the monitors link.
FYI I did search but didnt find anything from end users.

interesting.......and a very good price point for and HD-SDI.
I just might buy this one instead of the pana LH80, even though I realize its not as good, when I consider saving 2 grand it really makes a difference.

The designer of that matter is on these boards, username siniarch. You can PM him any questions you may have.

It looks like a really solid monitor, but the lack of focus-in-red and on-screen waveform monitor keeps me saving for the Panny.

From what I understand the actual screen is panasonic. Looks pretty good for the price, at least as good or better than the marshall.
Just as a FYI - some things you dont get Focus in red/ pixel to pixel / waveform monitor (not as advanced as more complex stand waveform monitors of course, but extremely useful )

There is an extensive discussion about this monitor in this thread.
http://dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=111093
The thread includes first hand accounts from those who have had a demonstration with the monitor. It has left a positive impression with many who have seen it.
Not a user of the Carrion but I've been looking at this monitor as well...it seems that the Carrion is pretty close to the lh900...they are both 1024x768 however the lh80 is 800x450...
lh900 is $3999 -- 1024x768 -- waveform -- 8.4"
IO - 2 SDI, component, composite
Reference: www.bhphoto.com (http://www.bhphoto.com) and personal experience
lh80 is $2259 -- 800x450 -- waveform -- 7.9"
IO - 1 composite? I think it is an option to get SDI which would raise the price?
Reference: www.bhphoto.com (http://www.bhphoto.com)
carrion is $1695 -- 1024x768 -- no waveform -- 8.4"
IO - 2 HD-SDI, RGB Comp., DVI, S-video
I like the options for the battery.
Reference: http://www.lsdsgn.com/
The lh900 is the only monitor that I have hands on experience with and it is awesome...but I do not have enough business at this point to rationalize the expense.
One thing about the Carrion that I'm a little confused about is the viewing angle...the lh900 viewing angle is listed as 170°...the lh80 is 110° vertical, 120° horizontal and the Carrion is 85°...so it seems to be narrower? However an HD monitor at 1700 still is a great price.

Actually, if you add the two 85 deg values, you get 170 deg, same as the other monitor. It's written strangely, but I think he meant 85 deg left of and 85 deg. right of center.
Ah...thanks...didn't think of that...

Hi Everyone,
I just saw this thread and thought I should pop in and say hello. :)
I make the monitor and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
From what I understand the actual screen is panasonic.
Noel,
Just to clarify. What I've said in the past is that as far as all my research, there was only one LCD screen in the market that had 8.4" at 1024x768 with all the specs that mine has. So my inclination was to think that it is the same screen as the Panasonic. But this is not verified.

RJS,
That is a good quick comparison, and though the Some of the Panasonic have Red Focus Assist and some don't (check not sure if the lh900 does) they both have waveform. But don't forget these functions on mine:
Zoom
Freeze function
Picture In Picture
Flip/Rotate Image
Vga and Composite Input
DVI also takes HDMI with a simple cable
and like you mentioned, the ability to use almost any battery and swap the plates in about 10 seconds (no more getting stuck to the plate that you ordered when you got your unit)
One thing about the Carrion that I'm a little confused about is the viewing angle...the lh900 viewing angle is listed as 170°...the lh80 is 110° vertical, 120° horizontal and the Carrion is 85°...so it seems to be narrower? However an HD monitor at 1700 still is a great price.

editorforhire,
Regarding the RJS quote above, you are right. It is a 170 degrees up to down, and right to left. This is a huge advantage in my opinion because monitors that don't have this much viewing angle just start fading when you are not directly in front of them.
As for user reviews, I'll ask permission from some of the people who have used it already and I'll try to post some either on my web site or on DVXuser.
Thank you guys for all your interest and support. :)
sincerely,

Icarus,
We are in LA. I'll send you a PM with my number and we can talk about it. Problem is I've sold out of my first batch, so I'm building them as fast as I can so that I can ship them. We would have to coordinate so I have an operational unit which I'm testing before I ship and you can check that one out.
But please do come check it out.
Thanks,
Luis
