Hey guys
Im getting frustrated with this lil problem here. I saved something from RAW, processed on CS2 and tweaked on Photoshop itself where it looks great. But when I saved it as a jpeg to my desktop, it looks washed out and very different from what I saved it from. AND when I bring back that washed out jpeg to Photoshop again, it looks good.
Whats wrong here folks? Thanks

It sounds like a possible color space problem. What's the color space that you're using in photoshop on the image?

I"VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR NOW!!!!!!
Do you happen to be using a Nikon D50?!
My photo's get washed out like crazy when i upload them to a website (myspace, personal, etc) but in photoshop or when emailed, look great.
I've been trying to figure out what im doing wrong, but i starting to think the problem is in my camera RAW's. I say this because this problem happens on all computers i do processing on. So i have NO idea what to do.
What i've been doing is over-saturating my photo's for upload and its a pain.
We need to fix this Dizkoteck!

It is as Tommy said, a Color Space issue. Try setting your color space to sRGB IEC61966.
Ideally it should be Adobe RGB (1998), but if your monitors are not calibrated properly, you get the results you are getting.
I use sRGB all the time, and though the colors technically are not exact, they do fine for video work and print. I also look at the colors themselves in their numeric values, which allows me to cheat a little with the color space.
Sometime in the future though I will get them set up properly.

IEC61966 and Adobe RGB give my whole screen a blue'ish tint.
I calibrated my computer, but whats the right way to do so?
Im working on a MBP and a MB...

Well see the things is and forgive me if I assume wrong
But if it is a color space issue, would the picture in photoshop end up looking like the exported jpegs anyways? for both color space?

Yeah i tested the whole color space thing and i still get the same washed out result.
Im clueless here, been trying to figure this out for a while now.
what i DID find out is this.
If you open the .NEF file (not in photoshop) and save it as a png, then take it into photoshop and do whatever editing you have to do, the wash out problem wont happen. But then that defeats the whole purpose of shooting RAW in the first place.
