Editing realtime?

What are your experiences with editing on PC? Is it smooth like DVCPRO HD in Edius with a notebook (2ghz dual core 2gb ram winxp)? I think not because of the GOP, but I don`t know. Which software can handle the footage of the EX?

I love to edit DVCPROHD because it`s so smooth...
