I've read somewhere in here that it gave a link to a site where I can claim the free 8GB SxS card from Sony. However, I don't remember where. Any help to this site is much appreciated.

Can you post the link so others who are having the same problem might find it?

Hi all - I was just there. The site is:

http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/index.shtml

Save your box - you'll need the UPC code!

Click "promotions and rebates" in the bottom right. You'll need to create a sony login and find the right promotion on the list. Sony has a lot going on. Click the one about the memory card and answer some questions.

I just read on the Sony site that the EX-1 has to be purchased (and shipped) by March 31st to get the 2nd SxS card rebate offer. I'm wondering if I should hurry up and order one or if I should wait until my scheduled shoot which is in May? Is there anything that I should consider like higher capacity cards coming out, price drops, revisions to the camera? Any NAB specials I should hold out for? If anyone knows why I might not want to rush my purchase to get this rebate I'd really appreciate the info. Thanks.

Wow is it still possible to get an card for free? Ordered my ex-1 2 months ago (here in the netherlands) and still waiting for it (it will be here next week they said). I thought i was to late for the free SxS card.

Thats great news. :D

Is it actually possible to get Sony to ship the rebate 8GB card outside the united states? I read in their website that they don't ship it outside US.

Well contacted sony todat and got this mail back:

---------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Sony fulfillment.
To receive the fulfillment or rebate offer you must also have an address in the 50 United States. Hawaii, Alaska and other territories are excluded from this offer. Unfortunatly we can not mail to addresses outside of the United States.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

..

Damn thats bad news for the beginning of the week :(.

Sony sure doesn't make it straightforward to get this SxS rebate.

I went through the pre-qualification process, then sent the bar code, copy of receipt and the instruction sheet that printed out, via overnight express mail (cost me $16.25 and USPS could only garantee 2nd day delivery).

A week later, I get an e-mail from Sony biz stating that something was missing. They had a link to it, and it was a sheet with a sample bar code in upper right (why didn't the pre-qualification direct me to it instead of saying that I was all set?) I printed that and will be mailing that Monday, with a photo copy of the materials I sent last week. Sure hope they don't screw it up by claiming I sent the form without the bar codes (because I no longer have the label).

I went online to check status and it came up 'not found'. Yikes!
