$35.00 - British Pounds

I need a graphics card on the cheap and there aren't many around locally. I'm considering using the card for games like Battlefield 2 [32 Player - 64 Player] & Counter Strike Source.

I'd also be using it of course for 3D Design, Animation. Not sure if it's relevant or not but After Effects, Photoshop, Maya, Blender, Lightwave. Such programs like that.

Whats peoples feedback on the card? I'm not sure whether to get it or not.. I know if i dont get a card and i get BF2 at xmas i'm gonna kick myself until shops open in the new year. Ebay hates me to, postal strike now.

Feedback appreciated. :D

Merry Xmas

You would be much better off getting a 8600GT or 8800GT, as the 8400 is the Uber Value edition card. The 8600GT is about 140 USD.

I have played alot of BF2 in my day... http://bf2s.com/player/43452158/

Wowie, that's pretty Impressive. I can't wait to get online and start playing, i've joined in at gaming cafe's and mates now and again. Though now.. this is where the fun begins.

8800, man i wish. I don't have that kind of cash. Thers an 8800GTX i think in town going at around $109.00, British Pound. [American Keyboard]

It's really strapepd for choice, naturally It would be better waiting a month or so to get more cash I guess.. but i'm an impatient little bugger. Decision, decisions, decisions.

If your doing 3d work, then as I have said many times before in the past, a graphics card does not make much difference in the long run, it does help in displaying viewports during content creation.

Look at Tom's Hardware for lots of great Gaphics Card reviews.
