These are not mine. Unfortunately, they ar not full frame., but compressed jpegs.
The videographer said he never went over +6dB gain.
I'd like to see some original footage and frame grabs.

Even with the compression, these are unbelievably sharp. Very professional.
I too would love to see some TIFF screen grabs or footage.
Do you know if it shot with the stock lens per chance?

Don't know for sure, but judging from the depth of field, I would say they are stock lens.
In some ways it's a shame to put a 35mm adapter on such a sharp lens.

All GORGEOUS shots--especially that dock shot. My god, even the 720P that I've seen out of the EX1 looks better than the 1080P out of my V1U.

That was my first thought. And to shadow everybody, that dock shot is beautiful.

Of the few weddings I did several years ago, there was a Greek wedding where the still photographer provided poor coverage. While I was shooting the fun -- and it was a small but very fun wedding -- the still photographer was just sitting and eating.
Afterward the wedding couple called to thank me and was wondering if they could extract stills from the video. They were disappointed with what the still photographer had shot. No surprise there. I said it was possible but the quality wouldn't be all that great since the resolution of video was much lower than a still camera.
Had I used an HD camera the wedding couple would have had the best of both worlds.

'Had a similar thing happen here. Last August, I was hired to shoot a wedding where they had already hired a photographer.
I shot in HDV, but the delivery was DVD.
During production, the client called. She was sickened after looking at the few shots the photographer she'd hired had produced. She asked if I could give her stills from the video. Gladly, I obliged. She was overjoyed. Her final admission was that if she had known of me before hiring the photographer, she would not have hired him. I got many great shots, and with 30 frames per second happening, I could choose just the right expressions, at the precise moment to capture a memory. The photographer only had a shot every few seconds--he missed 96% of the action.

I get the point about being able to pull high res grabs from video that can look great. I dont think however its time to do away with a photographer (high res stills taken with 35mm cameras, with a variety of focal lengths). A still from a video camera simply cannot compare when the photo is taken properly.
I guess you could start taking wedding videos with Red?
EDIT: I can totally see why though if a wedding party hired a flaky photographer they were happy their wedding was shot in HD.
