Anyone have recommendations on P2 ingesting? We have a Duel Adapter that is sketchy at best. Works fine but I don't trust it long term. P2 Store is too small right now (GB small) and P2 Gear is a little pricey.

Anyone know if they are releasing an updated P2 store or is there another option I don't know about. Really just for connecting to laptop/external to transfer. I am not concerned with playback....

What bugs you about the Duel Adapter? Haven't had mine that long, but it's been working fine.

Are you talking for field work or studio?

My Duel Adapter works fine, and you can always copy directly from the camera as a backstop or even host a drive to the camera.

Same here with the Duel Adapter. No problems so far.

Well I had a problem with my Mac Book Pro (with the cage..it had to be replaced) but I never feel like the adapter is that secure/long term...and yes for the field

adapter works great - no need to look for another solution - it works long term and with a lot of use

I bought a used 1g Powerbook (it has the right slot) from a contributor to this site and hot rodded it with 1g memory, new high capacity battery, a 250g boot drive and a 16x DVD drive...

Although it's also useful for internet access on the road, I use it primarily for transferring P2 files to either the internal drive and/or an external firewire drive. The only software in it is FCP 5.1.4 for the DVCPRO HD codec (6 needs more memory) and P2 Log Pro.

I have less in it than a new Mac Book Pro, way less than P2 Gear, and it works great... Barry Green often suggests doing the same with a PC laptop (of course FCP is out in that case)... a cheap dedicated transfer device...
