I purchased my DVX 100b when it was released and shot four shorts on it since. I am so pleased with its image quality that I wasn't so quick to want to purchase an HD or HDV camera even though I could afford it.

My first short won a prize and I pretty much owe a major portion of that honor to the images the camera produced. I can only go by the feedback comments complimenting the film look.

I just finished my fourth and want to share the YOUTUBE version with my fellow DVXers. This is one sweet camera.

Via: Very very easy to duplicate. Firstly, for this particular movie, I used scene file 8 on my DVX 100b and threw one angled 500 watt photoflood through a CTB gel at the actors. At the left rear of the car I threw an ungelled 300 watt photoflood to add extra light that could simulate a nearby streetlamp. That is it!

Jon: Using Premiere Pro 2.0 I exported to WMV 9 1024 and set custom settings to "same as source." Thankfully, YOUTUBE didn't kill it that badly. Thank you both for your comments.

does ctb gel really improve the quality as far as film look or are they just for setting the moon to match the sence....

Hugh, that was great. I enjoyed that a lot. Well done.

Yia: The CTB just duplicates moonlight. I could not think of a single other motivated source except maybe a streetlamp but then it would just look like I threw any old light at the actors.

KMD: Isn't there a scene file 8 on the 100b?

Syncman: Since this movie dealt with a flashlight beam that makes people tell the truth, I wanted to come up with an ending that would seem "fun", lighthearted and humorous. By today's standards, being gay is about as controversial as having a head cold. Nowadays it's no big deal and very accepted. As a matter of fact, two years ago I shot my first lesbian wedding video. My colleagues nor I are homophobic in any way. The ending was not meant to shock or insult the gay community and, as a matter of fact, was a wink in the direction that even "macho" policemen can enjoy an alternate lifestyle.

By the way, check out the blooper reel!
