Currently, what is the best price and source you have found for the Sony XDCam EX and it's accessories?

ProMax is running a pre-order for $6449. I imagine it is $19.95 at Crooklyn shops, plus $6000 for the battery and $500 for shipping.

Now, for Ned's rant #1-- price is only one factor in the purchase of pro gear. A far more important factor is the support which you receive, the business relationships you make and ultimately who will go to bat for you if necessary. Try to patronize your local pro dealer first. Or at the very least, support the vendors who support this board. Count on the street price of the camera being in the $6500 range. The SanDisk cards should price a little cheaper than Sony. I've seen them at $875 for 16gb at Tape Resources.

Bought mine for same $6449 from EC ProVideo in New York. Real shame having to ship the camera from LA to NY and then ship it back to me in CA. Should arrive this week.
