View Full Version : Canon 40D Shot(s)
Was out today with my new 40D. I really like it a lot.
Here is a shot I really like. Untouched.
If anyone else has 40D shots, feel free to post here.

thats an amazing picture, man :2vrolijk_08:
Well, that was quick.
My camera is DEAD.
I was ready to take my first shot at a product shoot today. Click. 'Err 99'.
Restarted, changed batteries, formatted my CF. Dead. Dead. Dead.
Needless to say, I am bummed / pissed. I have had it exactly 18 days. Such a hassle to get it fixed. I will take it in tomorrow. Craptacular.

Should have gotten a Nikon.
Well. I just got it replaced.
As it turns out, I bought my camera at BestBuy. I never do that. When I finally decided on the 40d I was so excited to pick it up I wanted it 'now'. It was 9pm and BestBuy was still open.
I took it in today and they replaced it, no questions asked. It was easy. While I was there I bought the extended warranty (which I also never do). I feel covered now.
As for Nikon... I did think about it. Agonized over it for weeks before I purchased. I knew my life with a 35mm (Letus) adapter was going to be miserable with EF lenses (no manual aperture control). The truth is, one of the reasons I initially decided on Canon is that I just like the ergonomics, menus, and overall layout much better. I am sure it is just because I am used to Canon for video. Every Nikon I picked up felt wrong in my hand. Also, while I am just learning still photography, all of the professionals I happen to know swear by Canon for digital. So it all boiled down to my bias and my exposure. Given my lack of experience with still photography, I felt that I couldn't go wrong image-wise with either Canon or Nikon. If I hadn't bought $1500 in EF lenses, I might have switched to Nikon today when I had the chance.
In the end, I have my new 40D. I am charging the battery now. We'll try this again.
Take 2!

When you start buying lenses it becomes like a religion. You cannot switch.

Also considering that all of the professionals you know use canon is also a good thing because they will probably be the first ones you will turn to when you need some help.

I have spent winters in Montreal.
There should be a new word for that kind of cold. It makes Minnesota in winter seem like the Bahamas.

And you might be able to buy lenses off them.
