Hi there.

I just saw Havoc. ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285175/ )

There's this camera guy in the movie and he's making a documentary about this girls life.
Anyway.. I just noticed that he used a Panasonic DVX100.. It was kinda cool..
And you got to see some of the footage of the camera as well.. I'm impressed with the colors that it produces.. I mean the colors in the film and the colors from the camera footage was almost identical.. Though I think they shot interlaced.. maybe they needed it to look more video-ish for people to tell the difference between the video footage and film footage..

anyways.. I just thought I'd share it with you guys..

you should check the movie out.. it was an alright movie..

Hey, sounds cool.

I think this should be in Film Discussion, or User Films.

Although, It DOES include the DVX, so you might be right :)

Yeah, as of late I have been seeing a ton of DVXs in big budget productions.

I cant think of any titles at the moment, but right off the bat, that one where the kid is having a barmitzfa (sp) and the hippie grandad and the kids dad dont get along, and stuff. damn, i need to pay more attention to what i am watching. I've seen it countless other times I just cant bring to mind where.

why was this moved?

This was not a thread about that specific movie.. it was about the DVX100 being used in movies..

That's true..

But I get so frustrated when I see films like 28 Days Later. Why did they use Canon xl1? why not the DVX100?
And with 35mm adapters... you can get so nice looking images..

Hollywood underestimates this camera I think..

They shot the movie in 2001, before the DVX existed.
