Now this I really dig. I love the "look" of this. Please share. It looks like you did more than just desaturated or used curves.

Mino, maybe it would be a good idea to create a collective thread, instead of making a new one every time you want to post an image...It would definitely free up some space on the main page...

Nice texture on this one BTW.

I had been thinking along those lines but the thread seemed to move so slowly I wondered if it were an issue. Now that you have brought it up, I will start a thread for the Olympus camera:) and post my stuff in there.

Thanks, I really like this shot also. It was a color raw file from the e-500 that I fed through the HDR machine. It looked a tad overcooked as a color HDR file so I zapped it into grayscale and adjusted levels until I had the image you see.

HDR...that is the big thing around here. I'm going to have to get into it myself...

I've come across a good number of purists who frown on HDR I think because of the unnatural quality or overuse of the method. I think that film was manipulated in the development stage not to mention the various film stocks for different tonal ranges and looks. HDR is just one of the many processes available to the digital shooter to manipulate the image. It can be overused IMO but having said that, photography is art and who's to say what appeals to who and why. When I first discovered HDR I had made orange day glow pictures of my cat and scenic rivers only the Hulk would dare swim in... Now I try to use the process to enhance the image where it was shot in flat lifeless lighting ect. I've seen some jaw dropping work done using this method but the good stuff looks decidedly well conceived, manipulated and delivered and always seems to use the three step RAW exposure method. Don't even ask me what it is I'm trying to say here as I've totally forgotten myself:)
