I am AC'ing on a feature in a few months which is shooting on the Phantom, seems like a nice system.

First off, it's not a 4K system, its a 2K/HD system, which shoots up to 1,000 fps with true 35mm depth of field. Price wise, I'm sure it's intended for the rental market, not personal ownership.

here are some cool facts about the camera.

1. 1-1,000 fps in 1 frame increments.
2. shutter speeds as fast as 1/500,000th (two MICROSECONDS!)
3. 2K resolution
4. 35mm DOF
5. 256G or 512G onboard storage via "Phantom Cinemags" which can then be transferred to computer.
6. 12 .lbs!

If I had all the money, and one camera to choose, it would be a Phantom. Actually, there are two different versions of the camera by Vision Research:

Phantom HD shoots 2k (square, if desired!).

The Phantom 65 shoots 4k, and has a 65mm sized chip, for that Days of Heaven, 2001, Lawerence of Arabia look.

That demo Andrew "lucky dog" Brinkhaus points to is stunning. :cool:
