I just got a Nikon D80 off of Craig's List, my first DSLR. I'm still figuring this thing out. A buddy of mine asked me to take some pictures of his new baby, and while I was at his house I snapped a few random pics of his goats. I won't include the baby pics, because babies are boring, and goats are fun. You gotta' love upstate NY, farmland 5 miles from downtown. I used Photoshop on these, but I have no idea what I'm doing. All taken with the stock 18-135 lens.

Ha, that second shot's awesome! Kinda freaks me out though, I'm expecting Babe to jump out from behind the door.

Yeah, second takes the cake. If only that overhang wasn't in the third one it would be a winner in my book as well.

Thanks guys, I'm definitely a beginner but I'm having fun learning. I take alot more bad pictures than good ones. William, you're absolutely right about the overhang in the third pic. It's one of those things I noticed after posting. I either forget to crop or sharpen before saving. I'll start a new thread called "Fixed Goat Pics."

EDIT - Just so you don't think William is seeing things. The third pic has been cropped to remove a fence overhang. William Robinette will receive royalties on all copies sold.

love the second one and the first one has something magical (maybe those sunrays).

some of the best shots I've seen in a while in this forum. They all have that stock quality to them and the black border with white strok really work for these photos.

The first is my favorite, good use of vignette.
