That's a classic.
I love it.

Wow... that was one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. I could see this being a Disney movie.
I loved the hundred or so buffalo surrounding and chasing one lion, lol.

Noob! Been posted before, but it is absolutely phenomenal. When you think about it, how those buffalo got together, made a plan, faced their fears and banded together, it's really epic.

Yeah, saw that a while back. What pushes it over the top is when the croc shows up trying to get in on the action.

hehe... Hudson got noobed :)
As for the video, that has to be some of the worst footage with a company name attached to it. I swear my Mother In Law can shoot better than that.

I think this was captured by tourists who then sold it.

That's what I heard.
But yeah, that clip is still incredible. That's the only thing I've ever seen like that.

Guys, you can only "nOOb" someone if you post a link to the original thread.
So Hudson didn't *really* get noobed.
... yet.

Yes, it was tourists on safari. Noisy ones. What's interesting is how it doesn't matter that it's a crummy camera, shaky handheld, because the subject matter and the "story" is so riveting. It has a beginning, middle and an end.
I thought they were stupid to give it away for free on utube, but it worked. So many people watched it that some company -- I think National Geographic? -- bought it!

I'll second that. VERY noisy ones.
:)

True.
Though I guarantee you that if there were a version shot with a decent camera without shaking, this version would only have a fraction of the views it has.
Luis, you are 100% right. And that's why it's killing me I wasn't on that safari with my HVX.

That was poo pooing awesome! Now that's some drama for you. And of course, the croc was the bonus!:thumbsup:

I thought the bonus was the calf walking off after all that.

You know, that calf had so many puncture wounds it surely died after that. It's a shame really, I gather it died a slow death. Could have had a quick kill by the lions. Not to spoil the sequel or anything.

Who knows, but the story is that they banded together and rescued it.
Way cool footage. Hopefully next time they'll buy a better camera and a tripod, or at least a monopod for their next trip.

People, this video simply BLEW ME AWAY. This is UNBELIEVABLE.... I am shaking now...
Someone up there was watching for that baby buffalo.
I've never watched anything like this.

And I must disagree... the amateur shooting adds to the effects and realism of the footage, IMHO, and it is a good thing, in the end.
It helps you feel that it is really real, it's really an accidental amateur tourist footage, and not a crafted pro footage.
Of course it would look better and cleaner if a pro had shot it!
But it wouldn't have that feel. This spontaneous shakiness reflects the emotional state of the actual viewer[s] and so - enhances the emotional effects on us - the secondary viewers.
Sometimes pro- looking footage is not the best\right choice, absurd as it may sound.
The Blair Witch Project was conceptually and visually based on that kind of approach and it rocks!
