I was considering buying an HVX with the Letus 35 Extreme adapter and using the prime Canon Still Photography lenses (I know, Cine lenses are better... But I don't have $10,000 to spare at the moment :-).

However, do have a few questions about using these Canon lenses.

#1: How is the manual focus? I've never dealt with a pro Cameras or professional Lens's before. Would these lenses work well with a Follow Focus system?

#2: This more about the Matte Box... I was looking on B&H Photo Video for a matte box that would be compatible with this setup. Most of there matte box's are "Pre-design" for a specific camera (at least thats what I'm getting from there site!). I want one that can be rod supported and not support by the lens. What I don't understand as well is what they mean by "Filter Size" on the Canon Primes? Is this the diamater of the lense barrel and I need to find a matching matte box that will accept a 52 and/or 58mm filter size? I'm a little in the dark on this subject. I was wanting to use this matte box setup (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/485628-REG/Petroff_PM44_1P_PM44_1P_Wide_Hard_Sunshade.html) But I'm not sure if It will work or not.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks for the help guys!

Landon :-)

You will need one of the older canon or nikon lenses that have manual f stop controls.
A few of the auto focus lens can be used but you safer sticking w/manual focus + they are a lot cheaper used.
Most newer lens are electronically controlled so you can't set the f-stop of them off a 35body.
I'm not that familiar with canon but Nikons are great & there are plenty on ebay.
The ones to stay away from are the Nikon DX & G series. All the others should wk.
