1) 48v phantom?

...I have found without a doubt the Canon Xh-A1 is the best professional 3CCD camera that does Native 16x9 HDV with XLR support wiht phantom power for under 3500.00 I would say the HVX similar quality plus it has the different recording frame rate modes via P2 but its so bloody expensive!

Your biggest compromise is the HDV codec. Research it, know it, and be aware of what problems it might cause, and you'll be fine. It's a very good doc camera.
