We are shooting using the HVX200 at 720/24p. The Citidisk records the files at 60fps. How do we remove the access frames in Edius?

Are you talking about being able to edit the material, or converting it to the equivalent of PN?

To do the former, you don't have to do anything -- Edius will identify the duplicate frames and ignore them. To do the latter, render out a DVCProHD AVI file using Procoder 3 or Procoder Express for Edius and set the framerate to 23.97.

Thanks THoff. However when I load a new project with OHCI HD 24Hz with 960X730 23.98p over 59.94p there seems to be no change. The footage is moving very quickly.

Also when I used procoder the file was all chopping and there were a lot of tracers when the subject moved in the frame.

What can I do to get the footage to run at a normal pace and not look like it is from the 1930's? Thanks.

I suspect that maybe the Citidisk didn't write the redundant frame flags into the AVI file.

Can you play the clips in their entirety and with audio, or does the video play at the wrong speed and without audio? Incidentally, if the video plays faster than realtime, then you probably don't have duplicate frames.

Try right-clicking on the clip in the Edius bin, go to Properties, then Video, and change the framerate from whatever is shown to 23.98.

THoff, you are the man. The right clicking and changing to 23.98 worked perfectly. I have had nothing but problems with the Citidisk recording to AVI2 with the Canopus codec. I would usggest others to steer clear and just record native AVI2 or MOV as we are doing now.

With regards to the audio it is there but cut off. Any way to salvage the audio?

Does it only cut off when you play the file as 23.98? If so, add the clip to the bin twice, and use one clip for the video, the other for the audio.

Drop the audio and video from the two clips on separate audio and video tracks in a sequence, and render the sequence out as a new file.

I've heard the Citidisk referred to by another name that rhymes with Citi...

I hear that! Thanks again. I will try out the audio fix and let you know how it goes.
