Hi all have you guys seen the NexTo ND-2525?

It has Firewire ports (viewed as an external HD by the camera), USB 2.0 ports, and Compact Flash Memory slot. It also can write at up to 32MB/sec.

According to this announcement by Nexto DI the ND-2525 can support up to 3 hours of continuous use with the HVX200 on one battery charge.

Their U.S. distro is here:

160GB Firestone is like $2000
160GB ND-2525 is only $289

For those of you who buy the ND-2525, you can all send me the check for the difference.:engel017:

I have one, and it is in no way competition for, or an alternative to, the FireStore.

The FireStore allows direct recording to disk, the Nexto doesn't. The Nexto can be used as a portable firewire offload drive, and it's the best one on the market for that. But it doesn't do what the FireStore does.

ok thanks for the clarification. I just thought of something and posted it to another post a few min ago.

Could the Lexar 32Bit PCMCIA Compact Flash adapter + a High Speed 300X CF card work the same as a P2 card?

Nope. There are no alternative memory card devices.

Of course we've tried it; the HVX's been on the market for two years and we tried anything and everything. Remember P2 cards used to cost about $700 per gigabyte! Now they're down around $50 per gigabyte so it's not such an issue anymore, but yes we tried it all.
