This fest will have prizes like all the other ones - as soon as its all figured out and settled we'll hear the official announcement.

Given the longer deadline, they should be pretty sweet. Although it's hard to beat last fest!

Hey, everyone petition Jarred to give away a Red :-) heheheh

A bit early in the process there isn't it?

Except Herofest (and perhaps one of the earlier fests).

Obviously as stated by Barry and others in the past, the main drive behind the fests is to get the forum users off our asses and create rather than just talk about it. The prizes if and when they happen are just icing on the cake but should not be the determining factor in your creating an entry.

While its true that Jarred said Herofest wasn't about prizes (which NONE of the fests really are), in the end there were prizes given out:

I would be less likely to finish it on time and under 6 minutes. But would still finish the movie either way.

Prizes are being worked on. Nothing final yet. Still putting it all together and confirming sponsors and such.

I can tell you the names of a few of the sponsors that have confirmed if that will satisfy your appetite a bit? Some familiar faces (with new products), and some new faces as well this time.

It's not a complete list. A list in progress and just a teaser, but I can pass along a few names if you like................

Later,
Jason

If that's a question, my answer is "Yes, I would like."

I got a good chuckle out of this one.

Personally, I'm entering this festival for experience and the bit of exposure. Sure, it would be fantastic to win or even place, but I'm not setting my sights on that. I don't think anyone should, really. We should all just commit to making really good short films that our fellow film enthusiasts, and anyone else, will enjoy watching and want to watch again. :)

I think Como's taking the theme of this fest a bit too seriously http://guest.duffx.com/lmao.gif
