Forgive me if the answer to my question is simple. I've run through the manual and tried searching the forum.
I'm new to the HVX and to camcorders generally (yes it's more camera than I need). I have some footage on miniDV @ 24p that I'd like to capture to my computer. I'm using Vegas 7 on Windows XP. The problem is that Vegas does not see the camera. Neither does VirtualDub. And when I run the Panasonic P2 USB driver install application and am asked to connect the camera and press "Install", I do as instructed but the program does not advance and I must cancel. The camera is connected via USB2.0 in MCR/VCR mode. I've tried two separate cables; two separate computers; and I've reset the camera menu setting to their factory defaults. What am I missing? Perhaps it would be easier to tell me exactly how the process ought to work.
