Broadband, that's what happened.

Great sound.

Very nice photography.

What adapter and settings did you use.

What did you do in post.

Would it be possible to export a quicktime file.

This one seems to have horizontal artifacts.

All in all damn impressive job to be sure.

Guys, just want to make sure that you know it's not my work. It's Drake's and I posted this link because I want you guys to see how well the HV20 can perform if you light it correctly. I asked him to come here too so I'm sure he'll show up and explain a little more but here's what he replied to my post on the HV20 forum.

strancali,

Thanks for the encouragement. I shot it with a US version using 1080i... I'm scared of 24p but I'll bet it would have been even better. As far as settings... well this cam doesn't have many hehe. I just made sure I always controlled the eposure properly, and I backed up A LONG WAY for every shot. That is how I got that shallow DOP, just backiing up and zooming in. Tripod most of the time. As far as lights, well for the outdoor scenes I didn't use any, not even a reflector. The band shots... that is a different story. It took about 3 hours to light it. Using a total of 12 different lights providing hairlight, fill and even a cookie on her eyes to make her face sparkle.

@Estebeverde, artifacts because it's interlaced.

First, I would like to say thank you to the good folks who liked this video. It means a lot to me that the good word is being spread.

As stated before, I didn't use an adaptor. I just don't have the money for one. I just used solid shooting techniques and a little color correction.

Thanks again folks. If you have any questions, please ask.

I loved the colors and the shots. I wished it was shot in 24p though. That would of taken the video to the next level.

What is the best way to remove the interlacing.

In what step of the post process should this be done?

Were the black and whie shots treated while editing or did you shoot in black and white on the HV20?

I'm also wanting to do a music vid and I often wondered how to get the shot where the camera looks like its bolted on to the headstock of the guitar, how do you do that without hurting the guitar?

Cheers

That was great! I can't believe you didn't use an adapter or 24p for some of those shots. You've really sold me on getting an HV20 (until I can afford an EX1)

Cheers, keep up the great work!

I've seen other footage that's just as good. Not mine mind you. :)
He's posted on various forums and MySpace that this is HV20 footage. Maybe an adapter was used but I don't think it is necessary.

Looks great!

PS- And if you back up real far and have the room... you can create that real shallow DOF.

hmm.. sorry but im still not a believer that this is hv20 footage. More like HVX or higher camera with an adaptor used. I agree with you on the DOF if your subject and BG are spaced well but i still think an adapter was used.

Also if this was a hv20 camera this post would have ***** star next to it and a lot more posts from 100's of readers from this site.. sorry but i just dont believe this at all.

Maybe it's because we've seen equally impressive HV20 footage on the HV20 forum. :D

Maybe you should take a look...

Cheers,

Good.

I have the very very special HV200 (The second 0 in the HV200 is in sharpie but that is just because this is a special addition!).

I will sell it to you for only $7500.00 + shipping and insurance.

That way, when you shoot, you know you are getting the real deal and not just HV20 footage!

first of all ive seen better hv20 footage without an adapter than this I dont see what all the fuss is about. People need to start saving k's and switching to the hv2o

I don't think they used an adapter on this.

They just used lighting and zoomed in.
