Does anyone know where to get or make the beep sound that you usually hear at the beginning of cut scenes? Thanks for any help you can give me!

I think it's generally just a short clip of the same 1000Hz tone used in the 'bars & tone'

Probably just the length of one frame.

The beep is a throwback to the old tape days when you had to first timecode burn tapes with a bars and tone leader and then a black frame buffer and tone for the rest of the tape. The black and tone gaps would be a result of jogging ahead 5 seconds between each take when shooting or dubbing them.

Actually, that tone is marked by the sound recorder on the Nagra to mark the beginning and end of takes. For digital footage in which the sound and picture are already synced, it is not necessary.

It can be added, if you really want, with the tone from the bars/tone.

I think you get it when you create a film leader in Premiere, too. 5...4....3....blip!
