Yeah, that alone is hard enough.... nevermind actually trying to make a film.

Well for you, but it seems like in various threads I've seen that you are like shooting 4 projects in this fest. You are becoming the Herman Witkam or David Concannon of DPs! :)

Mark Harris

And John, with your title, I don't want you to let the technology get in the way of your story. Focus on those truly touching, romantic moments, the way great sci-fi romances of the past have.

See, now he has a lot to live to. It's being built up way too much. He's probably thinking "Ah, crap, now I have to actually make this movie, and it has to be awesome" Can we even tar and feather Hudson? I think he's too manly to let that happen. He'd probably stop everyone with a karate chop, or something. I heard that Hudson doesn't have testicles, just two giant fists. Yeah, I'm starting a Chuck Norris thing, but with John Hudson.

That's rad. My arms are bigger.

-

Right now I'm sitting on a couple ideas that may or not come to fruition. There has been a falling out with 2 of the actors slated to head this project. The project itself has been on a backburner trying to tackle another project that just fell through in the Nth hour.

Soo all of this wait and see and trying to accomodate a previous commitment seems to have been for nothing.

Leaving me sitting here with less than 3 weeks to go.

-

I'm trying to scramble to see what I can do.

If I don't enter; I'll self ban until I do.

That's a great idea, Mark. Hudson, could you host a show the night the entries go live? If publicized here you would get a big audience I bet.

J.R. Hudson
01-22-2008, 09:55 AM
That could be a good idea

I'm still trying to figure out what I can do for my own project.

Dude, make a movie about your son. That seems to be where your main mojo comes from. And think about how awesome it would be for him to look back in 20 years and see this film his dad did about him.

John, put it together and set a shoot date for the second of Feb. I land back in town on the 31st, so give me a day to get reoriented and then we'll slam it out on the 2nd, and then you've got a couple of weeks to finish it off and enter it.

Plenty of time. :)

It's not the editing that takes time... its the other stuff... I remember with my last entry, I had a pretty solid cut locked in 2-3 days... but the sound design, titles, and music took the time....

Nothing. I don't know.

Creativity sapped by drama and real life. Too bad, had a killer idea. Falling out with talent, too late to recast, spent too much time working on another project only to get focked on that one ...

Should've been working on this one but obligated to do that one orginally.

-

Filmmaking would be fun if one didn't have to rely on other people.

-

Anyways. Film has taken a back seat for me over the last year; the last thing I directed was a short for Dramafest in FEB 2007.

Since then, I've helped others on thier stuff, but have just not had the focus for myself.

-

That's life.

Jared Meyer
02-06-2008, 01:48 PM
Ugh, I hear ya, John. Been feeling the same way myself. But I think you've still got some killer projects inside you yet...

Permanently

My passion for film is there if not dormant. I'm currently living in my own LOVEFEST in life; 2007 was a doozy and 2008 is starting to look pretty damn cool.

I'll get back on the train.

I seem to remember a lot of talk about that sort of thing...

Based on my general inactivty over the last year, I'd say I self banned somewhat.

Mark Harris
02-24-2008, 11:01 AM
I think a more appropriate punishment would be for Barry to break out the red, and give us some 4K footage of Hudson streaking the busiest street in your town. :):)
