I'm not so sure, but then agian Robert Rodreguiz (Spy Kids, Desperado) did El Mariachi for about $7000 back in I think 96 and that was shot on 16mm film. I don't think he had all the luxury and techology we have now. I don't know, its possible i guess. Good luck though.

I'm the production manager for the PBS affiliate in Toledo, Ohio.

Nearly everything that they do (other than the MAJOR shows) is essentially a negative pick-up, meaning that they're going to make you fund the thing yourself and through underwriting. Good luck, as it is going to be a hard road actually getting it distributed!

Over the years, we've only had MAYBE half a dozen shows get picked up nationally through PBS... and those weren't through PBS proper, but through APT (American Public Television), which is a secondary source of programming.

Good luck, of course! Just be prepared for what's REALLY ahead of you!
