For Film out.

Pros and cons?

Cost is one for sure... the lens adapter is $800 bucks.
Light loss on the lens adapter?
What about quality?

thanks Michael

light loss is not an issue if you go for the pana or century anamorphics...
well you get most pixels out of the anamorphic.,but you'll loose the autofocus (if that is an issue for u...for me it's not ) and the DOF will be influenced... the pic will be sharper from the foreground to the background...

deep focus. Bummer... but good to know that there is no light loss. Which would you recommend? Panny or Century ?
I would be interested to see the resolution difference... I'm sure it's relatively small (especially after a transfer to film).

I don't think Century ever released their planned DVX anamorphic adapter, so the Panasonic one is the only one available.

the best quality, sharpest 16x9 image you can get on the DVX100 is with the anamorphic adapter

Search. There are countless threads on this. And as to the original post, remember that you will not want to shoot wide open with the ana adapter. Get Barry's book if you don't already have it as there is a huge section of it dedicated to shooting with this thing.
