I'm trying to figure out what sort of camera setup to go with. I originally intended to get an XH-A1, and it's still a possibility, but it's becoming increasingly obvious that the money isn't there for it. So what do you think about this?

HV20- $900
Light kit (hoping around 2k, used if I can find it)- $500
Letus FE(used)- Hoping to find for around $600
Lens(s)- $200

Total: $2500, this is including various expenses (shipping, having to pay a bit more for things, etc)

I already have a 50mm lying around, and I can probably borrow any other lenses I may need from friends and family for a while. I already have an NTG2 microphone setup, sony 7506s, and I should be getting a 501 head tripod for Christmas.

Anything else you can think of that would be needed with the setup? Anything wrong with it? I'm hoping that with a 3 light setup with a total wattage of 1.8k I'll be able to adequately light an indoor scene with the HV20 adapter setup. Are rods necessary for the Letus FE? Keep in mind I'm not opposed to ghetto rigging it, and I would likely be able to throw something together from home depot parts for a handheld setup.

I'm somewhat worried about a follow focus and monitor. Is it possible to function decently without? I'm not looking for perfect, I'm looking to spend as little as possible on a high def 35mm adapter setup that works decently.

I would suggest you to check Letus35 Extreme before going for Letus35 FE. If their claims are true, it only loses 0.5 stop + lens instead of 1,5 + lens for FE.

An extra $500 is a lot. I was hoping this kit (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=38707&is=REG)would be enough to use indoor with the above listed setup; do you think it would be?

I've never used mine with such a setting but it really gives me hard time using it in low light.
